Our listed adoption costs currently total at least $31,354. This includes agency fees already paid and minimum estimates for upcoming attorney fees, cradle care, and travel. This is our family’s current breakdown, not a fixed price for adoption or a final bill. We’ll update it as more costs become known.

Our family has paid $21,754 in full: Nevada adoption agency: $15,500; Colorado adoption agency: $6,254. These are expenses we have covered, separate from the amount of gifts received through this fundraiser.

We expect at least $9,600 in upcoming costs: Attorney fees: at least $4,000; Cradle care: at least $2,100 for three weeks; Travel: at least $3,500. These are minimum estimates and may increase. They are not marked as paid.

Our current fundraising goal is $35,000. The expense breakdown lists the costs we know so far, including costs already paid. Upcoming figures are minimum estimates, so the listed total may change. The fundraising progress shows confirmed gifts received after refunds; it does not count our paid expenses as contributions.

No. Gifts through this website are personal gifts to our family, not donations to a qualified charitable organization. We do not issue charitable tax receipts.

Currently available: Zelle and Apple Cash. The contribution page shows the current recipient instructions for each enabled method. Only use the methods displayed there.

Scan the QR code on our contribution page using your bank’s Zelle service. Check that the recipient is Jason Barnett, with the phone number ending in -4207, before sending. Our new Zelle email address is not enrolled yet; do not send a payment to it. The website does not send money for you.

Friends and family who know us can use the Open Messages button on the contribution page to start a conversation with applecash@bringingcharliehome.com. On iPhone, tap +, choose Apple Cash, enter an amount, and review the recipient before sending. We also provide a copy-email button and a QR shortcut to Messages. Opening the link or scanning that QR does not send a payment. If Apple Cash is unavailable for the recipient, use another enabled method. Do not send money by email.

Cash App is not currently enabled. Credit and debit card checkout is not currently available. We will enable it only after the required account approval and setup.

Reporting is optional. Send your personal gift through your bank or payment app first, then use the report form to share the amount you actually sent and an optional note. A report does not transfer money, prove payment, or add a gift to the public total. If you do not submit a report, our family can still record the gift after verifying receipt.

We check personal-transfer gifts against the payment service before confirming them. Reports remain pending until verified. Only confirmed gifts count toward the public total, with refunds deducted. Pending, failed, canceled, and fully refunded gifts do not count. Please keep your payment receipt and contact us if you have a question; you do not need to submit the same report again.

Public recognition requires your explicit consent and family approval. If you choose anonymity and consent to recognition, your gift appears as “Anonymous friend”; a message you consent to share may still be published after review. Without recognition consent, your verified gift counts toward the total privately. We never publish contributor email addresses or private payment details. Avoid including private information in a message intended for public display.

Email hello@bringingcharliehome.com to reach our family about a gift, correct a report, or withdraw public recognition consent. Please do not email bank passwords or card details. Refund requests must be reviewed and arranged through the original payment service; the website does not initiate refunds or transfers.

Yes. Our Babylist registry is another way to help our family prepare to welcome Charlie. Registry gifts are handled through Babylist and the linked retailers, separately from this website. They are not included in the cash fundraising total, and you do not need to submit a payment report for a registry gift.

Absolutely. Sharing our website, following family-approved updates, and keeping our family in your thoughts mean a great deal. There is no expectation to give.
